This month IFEMA hosts one of the greatest Tourism trade shows: FITUR.
Madrid’s fair holds the 39thedition of an event that gathers the industry professionals, who every year present the latest novelties and destinations worldwide.
Since its origins, and more specifically in the last twenty years, the Tourism industry has been dabbling with technology. Back in 1992, for example, during the Universal Exhibition in Seville –a window to the world for all the countries attending-, we could already find proposals that tried to be a first approach to virtual reality and 3D for all visitors. Even if the solutions available at that time might be considered somehow rudimentary nowadays, this type of tools have become since then a great ally for tourism services providers, enabling them to transport their potential customers to dream destinations and letting them experience feelings and emotions they may expect at their potential destinations.
As years go by, exhibitors and virtual reality specialists have been fine-tuning their offer, making it possible for more and more visitors each time to enjoy unique experiences, simulating amazing landscapes and sights of whatever paradise they wish to visit.
Thanks to this sustained and constant evolution, FITUR last year’s edition was the most technology focused one until now. In fact, the presence of tech companies increased a 17% in relation to 2017.
While, in 2018, the focus was on how Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) could help optimize hotels business, this time the expectations of the fair go a step further turning all that data information into a much more personalised experience for the customers.
This time, forma will also attend FITUR 2019 with the objective of joining this goal of taking technology within the Tourism industry to a more humanized level, focused on user experience and being able that way to offer all the visitors a the opportunity to travel in a different way through virtual reality unique experiences.
From 22ndto 25thJanuary we will be located at booth 10-16, in the Know How & Export area at IFEMA. We will bring the Oculus Go glasses with us for anyone willing to enjoy a unique experience: travelling to your favourite destination as if it was real.
